Yeedi Vac 2 Pro Review

Yeedi Vac 2 Pro Review The 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum Cleaner

Expensive not so long ago, robot vacuum cleaners are now more affordable. But cheap does not necessarily rhyme with concession. As the latest addition from Yeedi, the Vac 2 Pro, it is now possible to find efficient robot vacuum cleaners for less than 500€! No reason therefore not to crack as we will see in our review.

Difficult to reinvent the wheel according to the established expression. The same logic applies to a robot vacuum cleaner where its round shape reduces the chances of getting stuck. The Vac 2 Pro is thus in line with the other models in the Yeedi range. We, therefore, find a white color, synonymous with a sober look and goes everywhere. On the upper part, take place the camera and a power button.

Lifting the cover provides access to the dust container but also to the on/off button as well as to the WiFi network connection system, an essential step before first use. On this subject, nothing complicated, just download the iOS / Android application then let yourself be guided: choice of language, creation of an account if necessary, connect the robot to its WiFi network then finally, position the QR code displayed on his smartphone above the robot’s camera.

A few seconds of waiting and the Yeedi announces (in English by default, but it is possible to switch to French later) that everything is finished and ready for action. Finally, after a final step, a firmware update – as often – will be necessary with a connected object.

Let’s finish with a quick look under the robot. The design is identical to that of the Vac Max tested a few months ago. A side brush whose purpose is to bring dust back to the central suction area. Two large wheels to “cross” potential obstacles/unevenness and a small one located at the front to allow the robot to turn on itself. We also see various sensors intended to avoid falls on steps/stairs and the contact system to recharge the robot on its base.

Navigation in progress

With the introductions being made, it is time to move on to the aspiration. To do this, you must open the Yeedi application and then launch the first suction to allow the robot to explore the different rooms of the home. It is advisable to make his task easier by putting away obstacles or even small children’s toys that could be sucked in.

This first phase of exploration will be more or less long depending on the area to be vacuumed and the “difficulty” of progression. It is nonetheless interesting because it already highlights the main improvement of the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro compared to the brand’s other robot vacuum cleaners tested in recent months: navigation is more precise, less hesitant, and therefore more efficient.

This difference is explained by the presence of a camera with a 3D system dedicated to the recognition of obstacles and objects (at least 3 cm). Thus, where the Vac Max can only “collide” an object placed in its path and then bypass it, the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro avoids it beforehand. It is also capable of detecting the cables and again, of not approaching them and thus not taking the risk of them winding up in its main brush.

For more peace of mind, it is also possible to define a virtual limit on an area that is too crowded (the children’s play mat for example) and/or a delicate carpet. To do this, simply edit the map from the application and then click on “zones without cleaning”. It is then necessary to delimit the zone and finally to choose if it only keeps the mop mode or is permanent (valid in suction and washing mode).

The application also offers various options to optimize the passage of the robot according to your needs. It is thus possible to adjust the suction power according to 4 levels, the water flow to three intensities or even to program two consecutive passages. But from experience, if the robot passes regularly, a second pass is not necessary.

With this in mind, scheduling automated cleaning tasks is very useful. You can thus define a total vacuuming (or a room) of the home every morning of the week at 9 a.m. and another for the weekend at 4 p.m. in order to avoid being woken up during your fat Sunday mornings. Because if cohabiting with the robot remains possible (about 60 dBA at 3m), being away and finding your own house on your return is even more pleasant.

Vacuuming is good, washing is even better

In recent months, the trend has been for 2-in-1 robot vacuum cleaners. Smarter, the latter therefore also makes it possible to “wash” the floors. The system requires the installation of a water tank at the rear of the vacuum cleaner. The operation only takes a few seconds, the time to fill it then install a wipe and clip everything on the robot.

On the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro, two possibilities are then available. The first is where only the friction of the advancing robot “cleans” the floor (like most 2-in-1s on the market). The second, more sophisticated will also generate oscillating movements of the mop, thus exerting more friction in order to overcome any dried stains.

Without equal the efficiency of a robot designed for washing as the Yeedi Mop Station can be, this system nevertheless constitutes an appreciable plus for keeping a clean house on a daily basis and spacing out the chore of “big cleaning”. From experience, we advise you to increase the water flow to the maximum or even to program two passages in critical rooms such as the kitchen and the bathroom.

Robot Vacuum Station Station

Vac Station, is the essential accessory that changes your daily life. As we have seen, an efficient robot vacuum cleaner is good, but adding an automatic emptying station is even better. And believe us, it’s impossible to do without it once you’ve tasted it. If some models come with a station, at Yeedi, it is sold separately. Count 199€. This may seem expensive for an accessory intended to save you the chore of emptying the dust container, yet it really changes the perception of using a robot vacuum cleaner.

With a station, the obligatory passage over the bin after each passage is over. You just have to remember to change the station bag every 6-8 weeks or so. The robot thus gains in autonomy and coupled with an automatic suction program in your absence, you will have the impression of having an impeccable floor without ever thinking about it.

The only constraint is to find a location for this small tower, 42 cm high and 20 cm wide (without the robot). But as long as you have white walls, the Vac Station will go almost unnoticed.

Our opinion on the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner

The Yeedi Vac 2 Pro appears at first glance identical to its counterparts, the Yeedi Vac Hybrid and Vac Max. In fact, it brings two big improvements. First, a more advanced navigation system that allows it to be more efficient, both for suction and when moving. No more robots are lost or blocked by an unforeseen obstacle.

Another novelty, the washing system now offers the possibility of vibrating and oscillating the mop. A detail that can nevertheless make the difference in the face of dried stains. In use, it, therefore, fulfills its mission wonderfully, namely to keep your home clean and save you the chore of having to vacuum. Program it and it takes care of the rest.

Yeedi Vac 2 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner Price

The Yeedi Vac 2 pro is sold at €389 on the occasion of its launch (instead of €449 in May). A competitive price to say the least. We advise you to add the Vac Station (199€) which eliminates the need to empty the dust container after each passage. An accessory that may seem superfluous at first glance but which really changes the use of a robot vacuum cleaner!
