Shakib, Mahmudullah, and Liton to Miss PSL 2021 Due to DPL 2021
After Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyadh and Liton Das to miss the suspended edition of PSL 2021 Pakistan Super League (PSL 6). After many dramas, finally the postponed sixth edition of PSL is going to be held on the field. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had to come to a decision after negotiating with the UAE government and the country’s cricket board.
However, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyad and Liton Das, who got the team in the replacement players draft, are not playing. Of course, it was already certain that Shakib was not playing. It was also confirmed that Mahmudullah-Liton did not play.
The postponed PSL event is going to start from June 1 after overcoming various problems. However, the event, which is set to begin in the United Arab Emirates, is fraught with quarantine and other rules. Due to which Bangladesh cricketers are not participating there. At the same time Dhaka Premier League (DPL) is going to start in the country. Which will be in T20 format this time.
So Shakib-Mahmudullah-Liton are not going to leave DPL and play in PSL. Meanwhile, the Lahore Calendars did not have to replace Shakib Al Hasan, who had earlier announced that he would not play. Old cricketer Rashid Khan has got the franchise. Despite the fear of missing for the IPL, now that it has been cut, Rashid has no objection to play.
Besides, Mahmudullah Riyadh has been replaced by Multan Sultans. The team is packed with Caribbean batsman Shimron Hetmeyer. With this, Mahmudullah was taken to the team twice but in the end Mahmudullah did not play for Multan. Although Mahmudullah was included in the squad as a substitute in the last postponed event, the franchise did not get the star in the end as it was affected by Corona. Meanwhile, the Karachi Kings have yet to field a replacement for Liton Das.
