Rashid Khan to Replace Shakib in PSL 2021 Remaining Matches
The suspended Pakistan Super League is starting again from the first week of June. Two Bangladeshi cricketers Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah were supposed to play in this league. But they are not playing in PSL 6 to take part in Dhaka Premier League. Rashid Khan to replace Shakib al Hasan in the rest of the PSL 2021 matches for Lahore Qalandars.
In last month’s replacement draft, the Lahore Qalandars replaced Afghan leg-spinner Rashid Khan with Shakib Al Hasan. But as Shakib removed his name from the tournament, the name of Rashid Khan came again as his replacement. According to the Lahore Qalandars, Rashid will be available this time. So he has been returned to the team instead of Shakib.
Meanwhile, like Shakib, Mahmudullah Riyadh has withdrawn his name from the PSL by dominating the domestic league. The Multan Sultans were forced to withdraw his name in the tournament and look for an alternative. Mahmudullah has been replaced by West Indies batsman Shimran Hetmeyer in the replacement draft.
The rest of the PSL matches are scheduled to be played in the UAE from the first week of June. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that cricketers from home and abroad will be taken to Abu Dhabi on Tuesday (May 25) so that their quarantine phase ends before June 5.
