The Pakistan Super League event is expected to begin in Lahore on February 13, and Rashid’s absence is a huge setback for the Lahore Qalandars. The Lahore Qalandars will now have to replace Rashid with another spinner. While speaking with the media, Lahore Qalandars CEO Atif Rana expressed regret for Rashid’s absence.

“It is not a piece of good news that we have to replace Rashid Khan. He is a well-known figure who has won numerous matches. Nobody can entirely replace Rashid. Rana stated that efforts will be made to replace Rashid with a solid player in the squad.

It is important to mention that Afghanistan’s head coach, Jonathan Trott, has previously emphasized the team’s cautious stance on Rashid’s injury. Trott underlined the necessity of managing Rashid’s rehabilitation with caution, given his major influence on the team.

“It is a case of us making sure that we are really careful with his back,” he stated. “He is such an influential player that we must ensure he is fully prepared and not rush him back from that type of operation. It is critical to give him the appropriate time, and he is working hard and is present with the squad,” Trott added.
