Gaddafi Stadium Lahore to host the opening ceremony of the PSL 9 which is scheduled to begin at 6 PM on 17th February 2024. The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is getting ready for its ninth season, and on Tuesday, the organizers will present the grand trophy.
The highly anticipated PSL season officially begins with this ceremony, for which elaborate preparations are being made for an opulent occasion. The Pakistan Super League 2024 season will kick off on February 17, 2024, in Lahore, Pakistani singer Aima Baig will sing the National Anthem during the opening ceremony.

Cricket fans all around the world will be entertained by a light spectacular including drones, and for the first time in Pakistan Super League history, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) will be incorporated into the opening ceremony. The concert will showcase the talents of Asim Azhar, Aima Baig, Faris Shafi, Sahir Ali Bagga, and Shae Gill, five of the most popular musicians in Pakistan.
In 2019, PCB, led by Najam Sethi, is committed to expanding and improving the PSL. After resuming his role as PCB chief, Sethi has said in many news conferences that the PSL brand has to be reimagined.
As the PCB puts it, “The PSL 9 will be a big event, taking place at the four famous stadiums with the world’s greatest T20 cricketers in action. Ultimately, we want the PSL to become the premier T20 cricket tournament in the world,” he had remarked.
The performances of Aima Baig and Sahir Ali Bagga also enthralled the audience. After that, the three lead singers of the official PSL 9 song performed in front of the audience, thrilling them and preparing them for tonight’s match, which is scheduled to start at 8 pm.
Fans watching the ceremony in the stadium and on screens around the world were entertained by the star-studded celebration of Pakistan’s biggest cricket tournament by captivating performances by musicians and artists like Aima Baig, Sahir Ali Bagga, Pasoori sensation Shae Gill, Asim Azhar, and rapper Faris Shafi.
Addressing the event, the Chairman of the PCB Management Committee Najam Sethi gave the people assurances that PSL games will be played in Quetta and Peshawar in 2024.
PSL 9 begins with a riot of sky-bursting pyrotechnics in all its splendor. Lahore Qalandars, the reigning champions, and Multan Sultans, the tournament winners from 2021, will face off in the first rounds. The closing ceremony and championship game will take place in Lahore on March 19.
