Pakistan Super League has announced the Match Officials for the HBL PSL season 9 2024, the list includes 16 umpires and 3 match referees.
The PCB has revealed the names of the individuals who will be serving as match officials during the Pakistan Super League 2024 (PSL 9). The list consists of a total of 19 individuals.
PSL Match Officials: TV Umpires and Referees
The Match officials include Richard Illingworth, Chris Gaffaney, Ahsan Raza, and Michael Gough, along with local umpires Aleem Dar, Tariq Rasheed, Shozab Raza, Rashid Riaz, Faisal Afridi, Ruchira Palliyaguruge, Asif Yaqoob, Alex Wharf, Abdul Majeed, Muhammad Asif, Naseer Hussain, and Imran Javed.
In the past, Richard Illingworth officiated 48 PSL games. In four rounds, Chris Gaffaney has officiated 34 games. Alex Wharf has officiated 11 games, and Ruchira Palliyaguruge from Sri Lanka has officiated three games.
In addition to being a former member of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, Roshan Maqsood has officiated in 97 matches. He will serve as the head referee for the PSL’s ninth season, which will also feature Ali Naqvi and Muhammad Javaid.
The TV umpire will be Tariq Rasheed, and the backup umpire will be Shozab Raza. Muhammad Javaid will oversee the match as referee.
Together with Aleem Dar, Tariq Rasheed, Shozeb Raza, Rashid Riaz, Faisal Afridi, Ruchira Palyaguruge, Asif Yaqoob, Alex Wharf, Abdul Mukit, Muhammad Asif, Nasir Hussain, Imran Javed, there are also the four members of the ICC’s elite panel of umpires, Richard Algonworth, Chris Gaffney, Ahsan Raza, and Michael Gough.
Ulngorth is one of the foreign referees who has officiated in 48 PSL games to date, having officiated in six previous league editions. Gough of England has officiated 34 games in the past four seasons. Wharf has officiated in eleven games, while Palia Guruge of Sri Lanka has officiated in three.
On February 18, Gaffney, a native of New Zealand, will referee the Multan Sultans vs. Karachi Kings league game at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
