PSL 2022 Released and Retained Players List

The Pakistan Super League (PSL 2022) kicks off on January 27th, and the countdown to the tournament has begun. All the PSL teams has announced the list of released and retained players just a day before PSL 2022 draft. The opening match will be between Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans at Karachi’s National Stadium.

Gaddafi Stadium will host the remaining 15 matches and four play-offs from February 10 to February 27 after Karachi hosts the first 15 matches from January 27 to February 7.

This is the first time since 2017 that Pakistan cricket’s national stadium has hosted a final. From 2018 through 2020, the finals were held in the National Stadium, while the 2021 final was held in Abu Dhabi, where Sultans defeated Zalmi by 47 runs.

It’s been revealed in the most recent edition of the PSL News that all six teams have identified their retained and released players; many of these selections and releases come as a surprise to fans. Check it out:

  • Islamabad United (8) – Asif Ali, Hasan Ali (both Platinum), Faheem Ashraf (Diamond), Shadab Khan (Diamond, Brand Ambassador), Alex Hales (Gold, Mentor), Azam Khan, Mohammad Wasim Jnr (both Gold), and Paul Stirling (Silver)
  • Karachi Kings (8) – Babar Azam, Imad Wasim (both Platinum), Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Nabi (both Diamond), Joe Clarke (Gold, Brand Ambassador), Aamir Yamin, Sharjeel Khan (both Gold), and Mohammad Ilyas (Silver)
  • Lahore Qalandars (8) – Rashid Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi (both Platinum), Haris Rauf (Diamond, Brand Ambassador), David Wiese, Mohammad Hafeez (both Diamond), Ahmed Daniyal, Sohail Akhtar, and Zeeshan Ashraf (all Silver)
