Ottis Gibson Joins PSL 2022 as Multan Sultans Fast Bowling Coach

After finishing his two-year contract with the Bangladesh Cricket Board, former West Indies bowler Ottis Gibson join Multan Sultans as their new Fast-Bowling Coach ahead of PSL 2022.

The 52-year-old will join Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League PSL 2022 when their season begins on January 27. “We recognised the fact that Otis Gibson did not want to renew his contract.” The fast-bowling section will be temporarily supervised by local instructors. According to ESPNcricinfo, Jalal Yunus, the head of the BCB’s cricket operations committee, said, “We want to replace Gibson with another foreign coach quickly.”

On January 2020, the former West Indies bowler replaced Charl Langeveldt in the Bangladesh team. He was also the sole establishment figure to call for Mashrafe Mortaza, a veteran player, to withdraw from international cricket.

In the Mount Maunganui Test against New Zealand, Bangladesh fast bowlers claimed 13 wickets under his guidance. One of the quicks who has profited from Gibson’s stay as bowling coach is Ebadot Hossain, who took 6 for 46 in the second innings.
