10 Batsmen with the Most Sixes in the PSL History
The PSL has been the second most-watched Twenty20 competition, after the Indian Premier League, in recent years. A total of six teams are playing in the Pakistan Super League. As the 8th edition of PSL begins after a glamourous opening ceremony, let’s examine the top 10 batters who hit the most sixes in the Pakistan Super League – PSL.
- Fakhar Zaman
Fakhar Zaman overtook Kamran Akmal and holds the record for the most number of sixes in HBL Pakistan Super League History. Fakhar Zaman who plays for Lahore Qalandars has amassed 1939 runs with 16 fifties in the PSL. His debut PSL game occurred in 2017, and he has appeared in 67 PSL games to date. Fakhar Zaman’s stats include 190 fours and 89 sixes while having a batting average is 31.27.
- Kamran Akmal
Kamran has smashed 89 sixes during his career. The right-handed batsman debuted in the PSL in 2016 and holds the T20I record for most stumpings in an inning. In 75 PSL matches, he has scored 1972 runs, with a top of 107*. He also has 12 fifty-plus scores.
- Asif Ali
Asif Ali is a hard hitter middle-order batsman for Islamabad United who made his debut in 2016 and is still affiliated with the same team. This batter, who has appeared in 70 games and scored 1016 runs in 57 innings with a strike rate of 158.75, is regarded as the team’s finisher. He has a total of 86 sixes.
- Shane Watson
Shane Robert Watson is an Australian cricketer for the Australian national team. Shane is the third-to-last player in the PSL with the most runs. He has played for two franchises and amassed 1361 runs in 46 matches with 81 sixes. Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators are their names.
- Shoaib Malik
Shoaib Malik began his cricket career as an off-break bowler before becoming an all-rounder for the Pakistan Cricket Team. He ranks eighth on the list of players with the most runs scored in T20 Internationals. Shoaib has scored 1882 runs in Pakistan Super League and is sixth on our list with 77 sixes. He has participated in 78 PSL matches to date.
- Sharjeel Khan
Sharjeel Khan is the batting opener for the Karachi Kings. He has also played for Islamabad United, for whom he made his debut in 2016. He has participated in 47 games and scored 1085 runs with a phenomenal strike rate of 141.46. He has scored seventy-two sixes.
- Mohammad Hafeez
Muhammad Hafeez has played for both Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalandi in the Pakistan Super League. He is a versatile player for the Pakistan Cricket Team. Since 2016, he has participated in 71 PSL matches and scored 1596 runs. Professor is the seventh-highest run-getter in PSL history. In his career, he has hit 146 fours, 64 sixes, and nine half-centuries.
- Rilee Rossouw
Rilee Roscoe Rossouw is an opening batsman for the South African Cricket Team. He holds the ODI record for the second-most catches in a single inning. Rossouw has scored 1414 runs in 64 matches for Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators, including eight half-centuries. To date, he has smashed 130 fours and 62 sixes in the Pakistan Super League.
- Umar Akmal
Umar Akmal is a middle-order wicketkeeper-batsman who began his professional career in 2016 with Lahore Qandars. Now a member of the Quetta Gladiators, he has participated in 37 games and scored 934 runs in 37 innings while hitting 52 sixes.
- Luke Ronchi
Since 2018, Luke Ronchi has been a right-handed batter for Islamabad United. Up to this point, he has played 31 matches and scored 1020 runs with a strike rate of 166.12 and 50 sixes. In 2020, he played his last game. His greatest run total is 94.
