PSL Anthem is Unnecessary Says Aqib Javed
Aqib Javed, coach of the Lahore Qalandars and former Pakistan bowler, believes that a official anthem for the Pakistan Super League PSL 2022 is unnecessary.
Prior to the PSL tournament’s, which will have a PSL 2022 Theme Song released in the coming days, Lahore Qalandars head coach Aqib Javed revealed his thoughts on Thursday.
In Karachi’s National Stadium, PSL 7 will begin on January 27.
According to the coach, “there is no need for an advertising campaign; it is just a simple waste of money…nobody wants to see singers”.
The anthem was critical, according to the former cricketer, when it came to publicising the competition in its early stages.
Fans used to flock to see cricketers like Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and others perform. Cricketers are the sport’s biggest stars. Singing is not what draws people to the stadiums before the games, he noted.
Lahore Qalandars’ anthems have been issued by the franchise multiple times, although none of them have been as popular as the original one.
